The first Space Labs Project Handbook
As part of the "Space Labs" project, students, teachers and staff from five different universities worked together for up to 21 months to design, create, evaluate and repeatedly redesign physical learning spaces in order to develop future-oriented, effective and user-centered learning spaces. These projects created experimental spaces to promote the urgently needed active development of learning spaces.

Mark Mushiva & Tobechukwu Onwukeme
For the Ars Electronica edition of our Loops series we are joined by Mark Mushiva and Tobechukwu Onwukeme (members of the Forensic Architecture team among other things), for a conversation on their interdisciplinary practices. The talk will discuss the political affordances of Operational imaging within 3D softwares in current discourses of environmental change and colonial reckoning. Through a presentation of two case studies by the investigative agency Forensic Architecture, the speakers unpack the importance of artistic direction, scientific analysis, and technology in creating evidentiary material used for activism.

University:Future:Festival 2024
How can academic learning and working spaces be designed in the future? How can post-disciplinary, hybrid and experimental learning and research be promoted through spatial settings? To answer these questions, a ‘spatial laboratory’ has been created over the last two years in the Old Reading Room of the TU Berlin in cooperation with the UdK Berlin. The spatial concept is radically participatory and is based on the independent activity of the users - i.e. students, teachers and researchers from the arts, technology, natural sciences and humanities.

For this LOOPS SESSION, we are joined by Agnes Meyer-Brandis, a Berlin based artist with a background in sculpture and new media, who will introduce us to her practice. She creates works on the fringes of science, fiction and fabulation.Educated first in mineralogy, followed by studies at the art academies in Maastricht, Düsseldorf and Cologne, she has founded the Research Raft, a fictitious Institute for Art & Subjective Science that purposefully ‘is asking questions but gives no answers’ in fields such as climate research, environmental studies, meteorology, as well as synthetic and artistic biology.
