Open Call | Performing Tangier Festival 2026
We are happy to share the open call for the 22nd edition of the Performing Tangier Festival. Prof. Albert Lang continues for the fourth time as a member of the festival’s Scientific Advisory Board, and we are especially excited to see this year’s theme resonate strongly with many of the questions explored within the New Practice platform.
The festival invites artists and researchers to move beyond critique toward practices of re-existence through art. At the heart of the call is the living archive, understood as embodied memory, cultural transmission, and the performing body as forms of knowledge that resist colonial erasure and museumification.
This focus echoes ongoing research developed within our laboratories in Berlin, and it is inspiring to see these conversations gaining such prominence within the festival. We look forward to sharing this moment with our colleagues and friends in Tangier.
