We are more than excited to announce the first details of the collaborative project: Reclaiming Data. The symposium and exhibition will explore how AI-driven archives and platform infrastructures are reshaping collective memory because – how we archive today is how we will remember tomorrow. Over two days (June 12–13), the partners will bring together artists, researchers, activists, students, and cultural institutions to examine data sets as contemporary memory infrastructures. The program combines synthetic historiography, reverse archaeology, and artistic-activist strategies of reappropriation by conceptualizing counter-archives and experimenting with alternative forms of memory-making.You can expect a diverse program with panel discussions, film screenings, performances, and selected workshops, including an accompanying exhibition at UNIversum (TU Berlin) from June 12 to 26.We are particularly happy that Reclaiming Data has been integrated into the curriculum of the Master’s program Design & Computation and that students are actively involved through their studio work.
