Table Upcycling

With the help of the TUB carpenters, we upcycled 30 "old" desks that we found in a furniture store at the university. They were fitted with castors and new black tops, designed to make the corners more resistant to knocks. These modifications not only gave the desks a new functionality for mobile use, but also improved their appearance aesthetically.

Also, taller and larger tables have been lifted and installed on castors. They can be used as a "workbench", for a quick group discussion while standing, or for a short "coffee break".

The tower PCs are now stored in brackets under the desk tops. Everything is wired so that there is only one outgoing power cable from each desk and all the other cables are neatly tucked away. This makes the desks mobile and they can be easily moved to other parts of the studio as required.
